SENCR-MIC Mission
The Southeastern North Carolina Regional Microanalytical and Imaging Center is a joint venture between Fayetteville State University and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. The center was established in 2009 and represents an effort on the part of both universities to build critically needed research infrastructure in southeastern North Carolina. The mission of the center is to provide students, faculty and staff of FSU, UNCP and surrounding universities with state of the art microanalytical and imaging capabilities in order that they may carry out cutting edge, transformative research at home and not have to travel to large research centers. The center is also available for use by industry, who are encouraged to involve FSU and UNCP students in their work.
FEES
All users of the microprobe will be charged a fee for use. The fees are assessed based on the schedule below. The rates for use are based on the classification of the user (student, faculty/researcher or industry), the type of use (analytical vs. imaging), the amount of help received (assisted use vs. unassisted use) and time of day (peak time vs. off peak time). The rates are structured to encourage faculty to incorporate students into their research plan and for students to learn to operate the probe unassisted.
